Engine Temperature Sensor: Service and Repair

Connector:

Caution: Care must be taken when handling Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. Damage to ECT sensor will affect proper operation of the fuel injection system.

REMOVAL

Preperation:
- Negative battery cable.
- Drain engine coolant system.

1. Inlet manifold assembly.
2. Electrical connector.
3. ECT sensor.
^ Remove from rear of engine coolant transfer tube.

INSTALLATION
3. ECT sensor
^ Apply sealer or equivalent to threads only.

Tighten
ECT sensor to 30 Nm (22 lb. ft).
