After completing the diagnostic procedure and making any necessary repairs or adjustments, the diagnostic codes should be cleared from the electronic control module memory. Stored diagnostic codes which have been corrected, will remain in the electronic control module memory for 50 engine starts or until battery voltage has been removed from the electronic control module.When clearing diagnostic codes the ignition switch must be in the Off position to prevent damage to the electronic control module. To clear diagnostic codes remove electronic control module fuse for 30 seconds to clear codes. The fuse panel is located under the left hand side of the instrument panel.
