As you may know, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has recently issued warnings and new guidelines concerning air bags. The enclosed letter NHTSA Administrator, Dr. Ricardo Martinez explains the agency's concern and gives helpful safety hints.

Since their early introduction, the auto industry and consumers have adopted the name "air bags" to describe a sophisticated and highly sensitive safety engineering technology. The precise name for this technology is Supplemental Restraint System, SRS. As its name implies, the SRS works with other built-in automotive safety devices...the most important of these being the seat belts. While it is well established that air bags save lives, this impressive safety technology will be compromised if seat belts are not used or when passengers are improperly positioned within the vehicle. In fact, some children and adults have been seriously injured or killed as the result of air bag deployment.. which occurs at over 200 miles per hour!

Isuzu knows that air bags save lives. That's why we put them in every passenger vehicle. Please join me in spreading the word about air bag safety.. lessen the risk of injury by following this simple rule: Always Buckle Up - Children In Back!
