Rear Defogger: Description and Operation

Voltage is applied at all times through fuses CB-17 and CB-18 to the rear defogger relay contact. With the starter switch in ON or START voltage is applied through fuse CB-7 to the rear defogger relay coil.

With the rear defogger switch in ON, ground is provided to the rear defogger relay coil and the rear defogger indicator light. The rear defogger relay contacts closes applying battery voltage to the rear defogger and the rear defogger indicator light. The rear window to remove any fog from the glass and the indicator comes on to remind the driver that it is in use.
