Rear Wiper/Washer

With the starter switch in ON or START, battery voltage is applied to the rear wiper controller, the rear wiper motor, and the rear washer motor through fuse CB-16 and the normally closed contacts in the rear wiper relay.

Wipe
When the rear wiper switch is pushed to the WIPE position, the rear wiper controller is ground through the BLU/WHT wire. The rear wiper controller provides battery voltage to the rear wiper motor and the rear wiper intermittently runs.

Park/Run
When the rear wiper switch is OFF, ground is removed from the rear wiper controller through the BLU/WHT wire. The run/park switch provides ground to the rear wiper controller through the YEL/BLU wire while the motor is running. When the run/park switch reaches the PARK position, the YEL/BLU wire then supplies the rear wiper controller with battery voltage. The controller then removes battery voltage from the rear wiper motor causing it to stop in the PARK position.

Wipe/Wash
When the rear wiper switch is pushed to WASH, the rear washer motor and the LT GRN/RED wire to the rear wiper controller are grounded. The rear washer motor pumps fluid onto the rear window until the switch is released. At the same time, the controller turns ON the rear wiper. After the switch is released, the rear wiper runs for 2 to 4 cycles and then stops in the PARK position.

Hatch Gate Open
When the hatch gate is opened, the hatch gate open switch closes and grounds the rear wiper relay coil. The rear wiper relay contacts open, disconnecting battery voltage from the rear wiper controller, the rear washer motor and the rear wiper motor. The rear wiper cannot be operated as long as the hatch is open.
