Transmission Replacement
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then positive cable.2. Remove center console, then transfer control lever.
3. Disconnect transmission shift control rod.
4. Remove engine undercover.
5. Remove rear propeller shaft, then front propeller shaft.
6. Disconnect parking brake cable.
7. Disconnect speedometer cable from transmission.
8. Disconnect lefthand exhaust pipe, then oil cooler lines from transmission.
9. Remove starter motor, then disconnect mode switch.
10. Disconnect breather hose, then remove inspection cover.
11. Support transmission assembly, then remove 3rd crossmember.
12. Remove exhaust pipe, then dipstick tube assembly.
13. Remove transmission retaining bolts, then lower transmission from vehicle.
14. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Place the gear selector lever in the Neutral position, then install the mode switch to the transmission. Align slot in support with slot in back.
b. Insert alignment tool (0.09 inch) diameter pin into both ports, then torque retaining bolts to 8 ft. lbs.
c. Tighten to specifications.
15. Install transmission retaining bolts.
