Manual Transmission/Transaxle: Description and Operation

The New Venture Gear 1500 manual transmission is the only transmission available with the 2.2L engine. The RPO code for the NV1500 is MW2. This NV1500 transmission is synchronized in all five forward gears. The NV1500 transmission has a two-piece aluminum housing that contains the following components:
- The front input shaft
- The rear output shaft
- The mainshaft gears
- The countershaft
- The reverse and idler gear
- The shift forks
- The shift shaft components
