Exhaust System: Service and Repair

WARNING: Always wear protective goggles and gloves when removing exhaust parts as falling rust and sharp edges from worn exhaust components could result in serious personal injury.





REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the tail pipe to the tail pipe hanger bracket assembly.





2. Disconnect the muffler to the muffler and tail pipe hanger bracket.





3. Disconnect the converter to the muffler.





4. Disconnect the converter to the converter bracket and hanger.





5. Disconnect the converter bracket to the frame.





6. Disconnect the exhaust pipe to the converter.





7. Disconnect the exhaust pipe to the manifold.



INSTALLATION
1. Connect the exhaust pipe to the manifold.
2. Connect the exhaust pipe to the converter.
3. Connect the converter bracket to the frame.
4. Connect the converter to the converter bracket and hanger.
5. Connect the converter to the muffler.
6. Connect the muffler to the muffler and tail pipe hanger bracket.
7. Connect the tail pipe to the tail pipe hanger bracket assembly.
