Headlamp: Service and Repair










Remove or Disconnect

CAUTION: Halogen bulbs contain a gas under pressure. Handling a bulb Improperly could cause It to shatter into flying glass fragments. To help avoid personal Injury:

^ Turn the lamp switch OFF and the ignition switch to the LOCK position. Allow the bulb to cool before changing it. Leave the lamp switch OFF and the Ignition switch In the LOCK position until the change is complete.
^ Always wear eye protection when changing a halogen bulb.
^ Handle the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass.
^ Do not drop or scratch the bulb. Keep moisture away.
^ Place the used bulb in the new bulb's carton and dispose of it properly.

1. Battery (right headlamp mounting bracket only).
2. Air intake box (left headlamp mounting bracket only).
3. Turn the red locking tab upward to the UNLOCK position, as noted on the rear of the headlamp.
4. Headlamp from the upper retainer by pulling forward on the headlamp to release it from the retainer.
5. Headlamp from the lower retainers by pulling up on the headlamp.
6. Bulbs from the headlamp by pushing in and rotating them 1/4 turn counterclockwise.
7. Nuts that retain the headlamp mounting bracket to the radiator support.
8. Bolts that retain the headlamp mounting bracket to the radiator support.
9. Headlamp mounting bracket from the vehicle.










Install or Connect

NOTE: Avoid touching the bulb or letting it come in contact with anything damp. Oil from your skin or moisture on the bulb can cause the bulb to explode when it is turned on. If either comes in contact with the bulb, clean it with alcohol or a suitable degreaser and wipe the bulb dry.

1. Headlamp mounting bracket to the vehicle.
2. Bolts that retain the headlamp mounting bracket to the radiator support.

Tighten
^ Bolts to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

3. Nuts that retain the headlamp mounting bracket to the radiator support.

Tighten
^ Nuts to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

4. Bulbs to the headlamp by pushing in and rotating them 1/4 turn clockwise.
5. Headlamp to the lower retainers.
^ Make sure that wiring harness does not get pinched during installation of the headlamp.
6. Headlamp to the upper retainer by pushing the headlamp rearward.
7. Push the red locking tab downward to the LOCK position as noted on the rear of the headlamp.
8. Air intake box (left side only).
9. Battery (right side only).
