Upper Intermediate Shaft
1. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's front wheels are pointing straight ahead.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position and remove the key. Note the relationship of the upper intermediate shaft to the lower intermediate shaft and the upper intermediate shaft to the steering column to ensure proper installation.
3. Remove the steering column.
4. Loosen, then remove the nut and bolt that retain the upper intermediate shaft to the steering column.
5. Remove, the upper intermediate shaft from the steering column.
6. after removing the old one, install the new upper intermediate shaft to the steering column.
7. Attach the nut and bolt that retain the upper intermediate shaft to the steering column and tighten them to 47 Nm (35 ft lbs).
8. Install the steering column.
