Excessive Brake Pedal Travel

POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. Air in hydraulic circuit.
Correction - Bleed hydraulic circuit.

2. Level of brake fluid in reservoir too low.
Correction - Replenish brake fluid reservoir to specified level and bleed hydraulic circuit as necessary.

3. Master cylinder push-rod clearance excessive.
Correction - Adjust.

4. Leakage in hydraulic system.
Correction - Correct or replace defective parts.

5. Rear brake auto adjuster malfunction.
Correction - Overhaul rear brakes.

6. Bent shoe and lining.
Correction - Replace shoe and linings in axle sets.
