Oil Pump Seal
REMOVAL
1. Remove battery negative cable.
2. Power steering pump drive belt [1].
3. Air conditioning compressor drive belt [2].
4. Air conditioning compressor drive belt tensioner [3].
5. Generator drive belt [4].
6. Cooling fan [5].
^ It is not necessary to pull out the cooling fan from the radiator. Keep it in the radiator fan shroud.
7. Water pump pulley [6].
8. Power steering pump [7].
9. Starter motor [8].
10. Crankshaft pulley fixing bolt [9].
^ Use flywheel holder J-38764, or equivalent to remove the pulley fixing bolt.
11. Crankshaft pulley [10].
12. Timing belt cover [11].
13. Timing belt [12].
14. Oil pump pulley [13].
^ Use puller J-22888, or equivalent to remove the oil pump pulley.
15. Oil seal [14].
^ Remove the oil seal with a pry bar.
INSTALLATION
1. Oil seal [14].
^ Use oil pump oil seal installer J-38709, or equivalent to install the oil seal.
2. Oil pump pulley [13].
^ Apply LOCTITE 262 or equivalent to the first thread of the nut.
^ Tighten the fixing nut to 76 Nm (56 ft. lbs.).
3. Timing belt [12].
4. Timing belt cover [11].
^ Tighten the fixing bolt to 6 Nm (52 inch lbs.).
5. Crankshaft pulley [10].
6. Crankshaft pulley fixing bolt [9].
^ Use flywheel holder J-38674, or equivalent to tighten the 118 Nm (87 ft. lbs.).
7. Starter motor [8].
^ Tighten the fixing bolt and nut to 86 Nm (63 ft. lbs.).
8. Power steering pump [7].
9. Water pump pulley [6].
10. Cooling fan [5].
^ Tighten the fixing nut to 26 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
11. Generator drive belt [4].
^ Adjust the drive belt tensioner to a deflection of 10 mm (0.3937 inch)..
12. Air conditioning compressor drive belt tensioner [3].
^ Tighten the tensioner fixing bolt to 24 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
13. Air Conditioning compressor drive belt [2].
^ Adjust the drive belt tension to a deflection of 10 mm (0.3937 inch).
14. Power steering pump drive belt [1].
^ Adjust the drive belt tension to a deflection of 10 mm (0.3937 inch).
15. Install battery negative cable.
