Replacement
REMOVAL
1. Remove battery negative cable.
2. Power steering pump drive belt [1].
3. Air conditioning compressor drive belt [2].
4. Air conditioning compressor drive belt tensioner [3].
5. Generator drive belt [4].
6. Cooling fan [5].
^ If is not necessary to pull out the cooling fan from the vehicle. Keep it in the radiator fan shroud.
7. Water pump pulley [6].
8. Power steering pump [7].
9. Starter motor [8].
10. Crankshaft pulley fixing bolt [9].
^ Use flywheel holder J-38674, or equivalent to remove the pulley fixing bolt.
11. Crankshaft pulley [10].
12. Timing belt cover [11].
13. Timing belt [12].
14. Oil pump drive pulley [13].
^ Use puller J-22888, or equivalent to remove the oil pump pulley.
15. Oil pump fixing bolts [14].
16. Oil pump [15].
INSTALLATION
1. Oil pump [15].
2. Oil pump fixing bolts [14].
^ Tighten the fixing bolts to 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).
3. Oil pump drive pulley [13].
^ Apply Loctite 262 or equivalent to the first thread of the nut.
^ Tighten the drive pulley fixing nut to 76 Nm (56 ft. lbs.).
4. Timing belt [12].
5. Timing belt cover [11].
^ Tighten the timing belt cover fixing bolts to 6 Nm (52 inch lbs.).
6. Crankshaft pulley [10].
7. Crankshaft pulley fixing bolt [9].
^ Tighten the fixing bolt to 118 Nm (87 ft. lbs.), using flywheel holder J-38674, or equivalent.
8. Starter motor [8].
^ Tighten the starter motor fixing bolts to 86 Nm (63 ft. lbs.).
9. Water pump pulley [6].
10. Cooling fan [5].
^ Tighten the fixing nuts to 26 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
11. Generator drive belt [4].
^ Adjust the drive belt tension to a deflection of 10 mm (0.3937 inch).
12. Air conditioning compressor drive belt tensioner [3].
^ Tighten the fixing bolts to 24 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
13. Air conditioning compressor drive belt [2].
^ Adjust the drive belt tension to a deflection of 10 mm (0.3937 inch).
14. Power steering pump drive belt [1].
^ Adjust the drive belt tension to a deflection of 10 mm (0.3937 inch).
15. Install battery negative cable.
