Courtesy Lamp: Description and Operation

The dome light is always supplied with battery voltage and it always illuminates with the switch in the "ON" position. With the switch in the "DOOR" position, it illuminates when the door is opened. Also, the luggage room light is always supplied with battery voltage and it illuminates with the switch in the "ON" position. With the switch in the "DOOR" position, it illuminates when the hatch gate is opened. Courtesy lights simultaneously illuminate when the door is opened.
The spotlight always illuminates with the switch in the "ON" position. The seat belt warning buzzer controls the warning buzzer sounding and the warning light illumination.
When the key is inserted into the starter switch, the contact of key cylinder switch closes to apply the battery voltage to the buzzer. Under this condition, when the front left door is opened, the circuit is grounded through the front left door switch, then the warning buzzer sounds. The buzzer is silenced when the key is removed from the starter switch or when the contact of key cylinder is opened by turning the starter switch to "ON" position.
With the starter switch turned to the "ON" position the seat belt warning light illuminates for about 6 seconds. At the same time, the seat belt warning buzzer sounds for about 6 seconds. If the driver latches the seat belt while the seat belt warning buzzer is sounding, the contact of seat belt switch is opened and the buzzer is then silenced.
