Installation

1. Cylinder head [20]
^ Using special tools, tighten fixing bolts to the specified torque, in sequence shown.
- Extension wrench: J-39252
- Extension wrench: J-24239-01
- Or equivalents

NOTE: Do not reuse cylinder head gasket and M11 fixing bolts. Do not apply the oil to the bolt.

^ Tighten bolts M8 x 1.25 to 21 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten bolts M11 x 1.5 to 64 Nm (47 ft. lbs.).
2. Level gage guide tube fixing bolt [19]
3. Exhaust front pipe [18]
^ Tighten fixing bolt to 67 Nm (48 ft. lbs.).
4. Power steering pump bracket [17]
^ Tighten fixing bolts to 46 Nm (34 ft. lbs.).
5. Cylinder head cover [16]
6. Timing belt [15]
7. Pusher [14]
^ Tighten bolt to 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).
8. Timing belt cover [13]
^ Remove crankshaft pulley.
^ Tighten bolts to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
9. Oil cooler hose [12]
^ Tighten oil cooler hose bracket bolts to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
10. Crankshaft pulley assembly [11]
^ Using special tool J-8614-01, or equivalent hold the crankshaft pulley into place.
^ Tighten center bolt to 167 Nm (123 ft. lbs.).
11. Fan pulley assembly [10]
^ Tighten fixing bolt to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).
12. Power steering pump [9]
^ Tighten pump fixing bolts to 46 Nm (34 ft. lbs.).
13. Generator drive belt [8]
^ Engage and adjust.
14. Air Conditioning compressor drive belt [7]
^ Engage and adjust.
15. Power steering pump drive belt [6]
^ Engage and adjust.
16. Engine Coolant manifold [5]
^ Tighten fixing bolts to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).
^ Connect heater hose.
17. Intake manifold [4]
^ Tighten fixing bolts and nuts to 24 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
18. Fuel injector connectors [3]
^ Connect to each injector.
19. Fuel hoses [2]
^ Connect the hoses securely and install the bolts on the head cover.
20. Common chamber [1]
^ Tighten bolts and nuts to 24 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
^ Fill oil to proper level.
