Hood Protector - Grille Paint Damage

1998 Rodeo (UE), Amigo (UA) models equipped with Genuine Isuzu accessory hood protector.

^ Vehicle production date: July 1997 to July 1998

SERVICE INFORMATION

Condition:
The top portion of the radiator grille is not protected from possible contact with the accessory hood protector.

Correction:
Apply a clear Anti-Abrasion Tape to the top of the grille, using the Anti-Abrasion Tape (Kit) listed under PARTS INFORMATION.

NOTE
If the top portion Of the radiator grille appears to have extensive paint damage, then repainting of that portion is necessary prior to applying the Anti-Abrasion Tape. Use the published Flat Rate Manual labor operation number 210701 for partial repainting of the affected radiator grille.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Open the hood.

2. Make sure that the top surface of the grille is completely clean of all dirt and grease.

3. Align and check for the proper placement of the Anti-Abrasion Tape while slowly closing the hood.

4. Using an alcohol wipe, clean the top surface of the grille.

NOTE
A solution of 75% water and 25% isopropyl alcohol may be sprayed on the top grille area to help the application of the Anti-Abrasion Tape.

5. Remove the backing from the Anti-Abrasion Tape.

NOTE
Do not touch adhesive backing with fingers.

6. Apply the Anti-Abrasion Tape.

^ Center the Anti-Abrasion Tape.
^ Align it against the leading edge of the grille.
^ Carefully apply the tape to the grille.
