Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Service Procedure

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Turn off the engine, and set the parking brake.

2. Slide the accelerator pedal pad upwards, while pivoting the top portion of the pad to the right. This will "unhinge" the upper integrated attachment clip underneath the pedal pad. (Figure 1 and Figure 2)

3. Pivot the top edge of the accelerator pedal pad toward the rear right side of the vehicle, and slide the accelerator pedal pad down to detach from the accelerator rod assembly. (Figure 3)
- Remove this accelerator pedal pad from the vehicle and discard.

4. Locate the new replacement accelerator pedal pad (P/N 8-94473-376-1). The new accelerator pedal pads have a different texture and identifying marks on the backside. (Figure 4)

5. Slide the bottom retaining-loop of the new accelerator pedal pad onto the accelerator rod assembly. (Figure 5)

6. Position the accelerator pedal pad as shown. (Figure 6)

7. Firmly pull the accelerator pedal pad down the rod assembly, until the upper integrated attachment clip of the accelerator pedal pad locks onto the rod assembly. (Figure 7)

8. Inspect the underside of the accelerator pedal pad to verify that it is properly attached onto the accelerator rod assembly. (Figure 8)

9. Inspect the installed accelerator pedal pad for proper positioning. (Figure 9)
