Passlock Sensor
The Passlock TM Sensor is a stationary sensor located inside the upper right side of the steering column. The Passlock TM sensor is part of the lock module assembly and can not be serviced separately. The Passlock TM Sensor contains 2 internal Hall Effect sensors and 1 of 10 available Resister Networks, each one produces a unique voltage to send to the BCM. The Tamper Hall Effect Sensor is on top and the Security Hall Effect Sensor on the bottom. The Passlock TM sensor is connected to the BCM via a three wire harness (Passlock TM power, Passlock TM return and Passlock TM data). Both Hall Effect Sensors monitor the magnet on the lock cylinder. The Tamper hall Effect sensor will turn ON if an intruder attempts to bypass the Passlock TM Sensor by placing a large magnet around that area of the Steering Column. The Passlock TM sensor sends an analog voltage to the BCM via the Passlock TM data circuit. All of the different S/T Passlock TM sensors are under the same part number. One can not simply replace the Passlock TM sensor and expect the system to operate properly. You must follow specific replacement instructions.
