Steering Column Housing Assembly

Tools Required: J 23653 Lock Plate Compressor.

Remove or Disconnect
1. Do all steps, "Remove or Disconnect", COIL ASSEMBLY, SRS Coil Assembly
2. Do steps 2 through 6, "Remove or Disconnect", UPPER COLUMN HOUSING COMPONENTS, Upper Column Housing Components
3. Remove shift lever.
4. Do steps 6 and 7, "Remove or Disconnect", T/S & MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH ASSEMBLY, Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly
5. Do steps 2 through 6, "Remove or Disconnect", LINEAR SHIFT ASSEMBLY (REMOVAL), Linear Shift Assembly (C/S Only)
6. Do steps 3 through 9, "Remove or Disconnect", LOCK MODULE ASSEMBLY, Lock Module Assembly
7. Four torx head screws (9).
8. Steering column housing assembly (26).

Install or Connect

NOTICE: Refer to the fastener precautions NOTICE. Technician Safety Information Failure to do so may result in component damage or malfunction of steering column.

1. Steering column housing assembly (26).
2. Four torx head screws (9). Tighten screws (9) to 17 N.m (13 lb.ft.)
3. Do steps 1 through 7, "Install or Connect", LOCK MODULE ASSEMBLY, Lock Module Assembly
4. Do steps 1 through 6, "Install or Connect", T/S & MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH ASSEMBLY, Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly
5. Do steps 1 through 5, "Install or Connect", UPPER COLUMN HOUSING COMPONENTS, Upper Column Housing Components
6. Do steps 1 through 6, "Install or Connect", LINEAR SHIFT ASSEMBLY (REMOVAL), Linear Shift Assembly (C/S Only)
7. Install shift lever.
8. Do all steps ,"Install or Connect", COIL ASSEMBLY, SRS Coil Assembly
