Drive Belt: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURENOTICE: Allowing the drive belt tensioner to snap into the free position may result in damage to the tensioner.
1. From under the vehicle, install a 3/8 inch drive wrench on the tensioner arm.
2. Rotate the arm counter clockwise.
3. Remove the drive belt.
4. Slowly release the tension.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Route the belt over all the pulleys except the tensioner arm.
2. Observe belt routing for vehicles without air conditioning.
3. Observe belt routing for vehicles with air conditioning.
4. From under the vehicle, install a 3/8 inch drive wrench on the tensioner arm and rotate the arm counterclockwise.
5. Install the belt over the tensioner arm pulley.
6. Slowly release the tension.
7. Confirm that the belt is properly routed.
