Underhood Electrical Center Replacement (UBEC)
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions. Vehicle Damage Warnings
2. Remove the positive battery cable cover.
3. Remove the positive battery cable bolt.
4. Remove the positive battery cable.
5. Remove the bolts that attach the underhood electrical center to the underhood electrical center support bracket.
6. Loosen the bolts that secure the electrical connectors to the bottom of the underhood electrical center.
7. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
8. Remove the underhood electrical center from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Vehicle Damage Warnings
1. Connect the electrical connectors.
Tighten
Tighten the electrical connector bolts to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
2. Install the bolts that attach the underhood electrical center to the underhood electrical center support bracket.

3. Attach the positive battery cable with bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (88 inch lbs.).
4. Replace the positive battery cable cover.
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Connect the negative cable to the negative battery terminal.
Tighten
Tighten the battery cable attaching bolt to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
