Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure
The knock sensor is located on the top rear of the engine.





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.





2. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from knock sensor.
3. Remove the knock sensor from the rear of the engine.


Installation Procedure
1. Install the knock sensor.

Tighten
Tighten to 19 N.m (14 lb ft).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.





2. install the wiring harness electrical connector to the knock sensor.
3. Connect the negative battery cable.
