A new special tool J35944-200 Cooler Flushing Adapter (figure 1) is currently available from Kent-Moore to aid in attaching the 4L60-E quick connect oil cooler lines to the existing Kent-Moore special tool J35944-A Oil Cooler and Line Flusher.

The transmission oil cooler must be flushed whenever a transmission is removed from the vehicle for service or if automatic transmission fluid contamination is suspected. Use J35944-A along with 435944-20 Cooler Flushing Fluid to flush the transmission oil cooler. Refer to pages 7-284 and 7-285 of the 1998 Hombre (TH) Workshop Manual Volume 3 (TH098-WSM-L03) for detailed instructions on transmission oil cooler flushing.
