Rear Housing Disassembly (Rear Wheel Drive)

REAR HOUSING DISASSEMBLY (REAR WHEEL DRIVE)

- Tools Required
- Hydraulic Press
- J23907 Slide Hammer with Pilot Bearing Remover
- J26941 Output Shaft Oil Seal Remover





1. Remove the rear housing shift shaft bearing.
Use tool J23907 with a suitable pilot bearing puller.
- Install the puller legs behind the bearing lip.
- If the bearing lip breaks off, install the puller legs behind the inside (outer end)





2. Drive out the dowel pins.





3. Remove the slip yoke seal. Use tool J26941 and tool J23907.
4. Remove the gasket material from the housing.
Use a liquid gasket remover.
