A/C Clutch Circuit Purpose
The A/C compressor operation is controlled by the powertrain control module (PCM) for the following reasons:
- If improves idle quality during compressor clutch engagement.
- If improves wide open throttle (WOT) performance.
- If provides A/C compressor protection from operation with incorrect refrigerant pressures. The A/C electrical system consists of the following components:
1. The A/C control switch.
2. The A/C refrigerant pressure switches.
3. The A/C compressor clutch.
4. The A/C compressor clutch relay.
5. The PCM.
