1998 and 1999 Amigo (UA) models produced prior to 1/15/99 with the following VIN:

^ Soft-top models before VIN X4334O45

^ Hard-top models before VIN X4334O8O

SERVICE INFORMATION

Condition:
The sunroof sunshade emits rattling sound under certain driving conditions;

Possible Cause:
One or more of the rubber cushions attached to the corners of the sunshade (sunroof side) may have fallen off. This causes excessive mating clearance and lack of cushioning between the sunroof and the sunshade.

Correction:
Install Sunshade Cushion Service kit (P/N 8-97223-230-0) to the sunshade using the procedure outlined below.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Detach the sunshade from the sunroof and remove sunshade from the vehicle.








2. Remove all remaining sunshade cushions and completely remove the adhesive residue. (Figures 1 & 2)








3. Prepare the surface with isopropyl alcohol (or equivalent) and install four (4) cube-shaped foam cushions near the corners of the sunshade. (Figures 3 & 4)











4. Prepare the surface with isopropyl alcohol (or equivalent) and install four (4) cushion strips to the edge of corners. (Figures 5, 6, and 7)

5. Reinstall the sunshade on the sunroof in the vehicle.
