Accessory Trim Plate Replacement - IP

Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the left side of the instrument panel sound insulator.
3. Remove the knee bolster.
4. Disable the SRS.
5. Remove the nuts that retain the steering column to the vehicle. Lower the steering column for clearance.




6. Remove the screws that retain the instrument panel accessory trim plate to the instrument panel.
7. Remove the instrument panel accessory trim plate.
8. Disconnect the electrical connectors, as needed.

Installation Procedure
1. Connect the electrical connectors, as needed.




2. Install the instrument panel accessory trim plate.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Note in Service Precautions.

3. Install the screws that retain the instrument panel accessory trim plate to the instrument panel.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).

4. Raise the steering column into place. Attach the mounting nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts that retain the steering column to the steering column bracket to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

5. Enable the SRS system.
6. Install the knee bolster.
7. Install the left instrument panel sound insulator.
8. Connect the battery negative cable.
