Heater System Description

The air conditioning system operates on the reheat principle. All air that passes through the system is cooled and then reheated to a comfortable temperature. The air is then released into the passenger compartment.

The dehumidified air is reheated as it passes through the heater core. The heater core is in the heater module. The heater is warmed by engine coolant that passes through the tubes of the heater core. This heat is transferred to the heater core fins. The fins heat passing air. The position of the temperature air valve in the air conditioning module determines how much air is allowed to pass through the heater. This determines the warmth of the air released into the passenger compartment.
