1998/99 RODEO (UE) VEHICLE BODY VIBRATION

AFFECTED VEHICLES
1998/99 Rodeo (UE) 4x2 models

Condition:
Some affected vehicles may demonstrate a body vibration at highway speeds.

Possible Cause:
On some vehicles the rear wheels may not be properly centered on the hub.

Correction:
To correct this condition, install rear wheel centering rings on both left and right sides (part # 2-90215-900-0).

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Follow the published procedure in the appropriate workshop manual for removal and reinstallation of the rear wheels.

1. Remove the rear wheel.




2. Install the rear wheel centering ring by sliding it onto the axle hub. Clean any dirt build-up to allow ring to slide on. (Figure 1)











3. Clean frame throughly, remove any dirt or grease and install the Centering Ring Information Label to the frame. (Figure 2, 3, 4)

4. Reinstall the rear wheel, and torque lug nuts to 118 N.m (87 lb. ft.).

5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for installing the centering ring on the other side.
