Diagnosis
STEP 1- Is the F-1 of the fuel tank unit connected securely?
YES
Go to STEP 2
NO
Connect the connector
STEP 2
1. Disconnect the connector of the fuel tank unit.
2. Connect a 3.4 watt bulb between the harness side connector F-1 terminal 3 and the ground of the fuel tank unit.
3. When the starter switch is turned on, does the fuel gauge needle fluctuate after about 90 seconds?
YES
Go to STEP 3
NO
Go to STEP 5
STEP 3
- Is there continuity between the fuel tank unit connector F-1 terminals 2 and 3?
YES
Go to STEP 4
NO
Replace the fuel tank unit.
STEP 4
1. Repair a poor connection at the connectors or an open circuit between the fuel tank unit and the gauge.
2. Is the action complete?
YES
Verify repair
STEP 5
- Is the circuit between the fuel gauge and the fuel tank unit normal?
YES
Go to STEP 6
NO
Repair poor connectors
STEP 6
- Is there a broken wire in the printed circuit of the meter assembly?
YES
Go to STEP 7
NO
Check the fuel gauge and replace it if necessary.
STEP 7
1. Replace the printed circuit board.
2. Is the action complete?
YES
Verify repair
