SERVICE INFORMATION

Condition:
Evidence of leaking differential lubricant on the exterior surface of the rear axle housing, and rear brake dust shield.

Possible Cause:
The rear axle seal(s) may be leaking.

Correction:
To correct this condition, replace the axle breather, breather hose, and any axle seals that are leaking. All replaced old axle seals, breather, and breather hose must be tagged and returned to AIMI Warranty Parts Return.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Replace the leaking rear axle seals using the published procedure in the 1998 Rodeo (UE) Workshop Manual.
2. Replace the rear axle case breather hose and the two breathers (1 at the rear axle case, and 1 at the end of the breather hose).
3. Refer to the next section for returning replaced parts through AIMI Warranty Parts Return System.

HOW TO RETURN REPLACED AXLE SEALS, BREATHER, AND BREATHER HOSE
1. Fill out and attach a Warranty Parts Tag to each of the replaced parts (axle seals, breather, and breather hose).
2. Return all replaced and tagged parts to the following address:
