SERVICE INFORMATION

Condition:

Some owners may comment of static noise in the door radio speaker when adjusting the outside rear view mirrors.

Possible Cause:

Radio frequency interference when the power mirror motor is activated.

Correction:

To correct this condition install a radio noise filter for each of the front door mirror motors.

SERVICE PROCEDURE





1. Remove the plastic cover (by pulling cover away from door) from the door and disconnect the speaker wire connector (if equipped) as described in the appropriate Workshop Manual (figure 1).

2. Remove the three bolts while holding outside rear view mirror assembly (figure 1).





3. Carefully remove outside rear view mirror assembly and pull the wire harness through the door opening and disconnect from mirror motor connector (figure 2).

4. Install the noise filter (part # 8-97224-655-0) to the wire harness and to the mirror motor connector.

5. Install outside rear view mirror assembly and snap speaker cover into place.

6. Repeat the procedure for the other side.
