SERVICE INFORMATION

The 1999-2000 VehiCROSS and 2000 Rodeo/Amigo have halogen headlamps and require a different Headlight Aiming Procedure. The following procedure should be followed for the VehiCROSS and the Rodeo:

1. Place one person in the driver's seat, inflate the tires to the correct tire pressure, clean the headlight lenses, and verify that the battery is fully charged.

2. Place the vehicle on a level surface with a vertical screen 3 meters or 9.8 feet away from the center of the scribed square on the headlight lens assembly as shown in the diagram (figure 3).

3. Mark the screen (1) from a parallel point from the headlight lens mark (figures 1 and 2). This point will now become the intersection point for your vertical and horizontal lines (figures 3 and 4).

4. When the lights are illuminated on the screen, the "bend point" on the vertical line will become evident (figure 4).

5. Measure the distance between the "Cutline" and the Horizontal line labeled "Distance A". For the VehiCROSS it should be 21 mm or .83 in. For the Rodeo, the distance should be 30 mm or 1.18 in. This area is illuminated between the horizontal line and the "Cutline" (figure 4).

6. Adjust the "Cutline" to the proper "Distance A" below the horizontal line by the vertical adjustment. Adjust the "Bending Point" to the vertical line by the horizontal adjustment (figures 5, 6, 7 and 8).

7. Always adjust the vertical adjustment first.

8. On the Rodeo the vertical and horizontal adjustment screws can be located on the top of the lens housing. The adjustment screw closest to the center of the vehicle is for the vertical line movement. The outside adjustment screw is for the horizontal line movement (figures 7 and 8).

9. On the VehiCROSS, the vertical and horizontal adjustment is behind the lens assembly (figure 6).
