Exhaust System Inspection

1. Inspect the following areas for cracks, stripped bolt heads, and rusted bolt threads:
^ Exhaust pipes
^ Seals
^ Three-way catalytic converters
^ Tail pipes

2. Inspect the exhaust system for the following conditions:
^ Broken welds
^ Corrosion that would cause a leak
^ Cracked joints

3. Inspect the following components:
^ Clamps
^ Brackets
^ Insulators

4. The exhaust system, including the heat shields, must be free of the following conditions:
^ Leaks
^ Binding
^ Grounding
^ Excessive vibration

5. If any of these conditions exist, check the exhaust system component alignment. Align as necessary. Replace as necessary.
