Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SRS Handling Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disable the SRS system. Refer to Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the steering column trim covers from the steering column.
3. Disconnect the steering column electrical connectors.

4. Remove the wire harness assembly (1) from the steering column and the wire harness strap (2).

5. Slide the 2 connectors (2) of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly out of the bulkhead connector (1).

6. Remove the key alarm connector (1) from the lock module assembly (2) using the following steps:
1. Rotate the key alarm connector (1) 90 degrees.
2. Pull the key alarm connector (1) out of the lock module assembly (2).
3. Remove the passkey connector from the lock module assembly (2).

7. On vehicles equipped with floor shifters, remove the connector (2) from the electric park lock (1).

8. Slide the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (2) out of the lock module assembly (1).

Installation Procedure

1. Slide the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (2) into the lock module assembly (1).

2. Install the key alarm connector (1) into the lock module assembly (2).
1. Push the key alarm connector (1) into the lock module assembly (2).
2. Rotate the key alarm connector (1) 90 degrees so that the key alarm connector (1) locks into place.
3. Install the passkey connector into the lock module assembly (2).

4. On vehicles equipped with floor shifters, snap the electric park lock (2) onto the lock module assembly (1).

5. On vehicles equipped with floor shifters, reconnect the connector (2) to the electric park lock (1)

6. Slide the 2 connectors (2) of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly into the bulkhead connector (1).

7. Attach the wire harness assembly (1) to the steering column wire harness strap (2).

8. Connect the steering column electrical connectors to the vehicle.
9. Install the trim covers to the column.
10. Enable the SRS system. Refer to Restraint Systems.
