Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure




1. Relieve the fuel pressure.




2. Remove the fuel filter quick-connect fitting. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar).
3. Remove the fuel filter nut.
4. Remove the clamp bolt.




5. Remove the filter and the clamp from the fuel pipes.
6. Remove the clamp from the filter.

Installation Procedure






NOTE: Always re-attach the fuel lines and fuel filter with all original type fasteners and hardware.

1. Do not repair sections of fuel pipes.




2. Install the clamp to the fuel filter




3. Install the filter and clamp to the fuel pipes.
4. Install the clamp bolt.
5. Install the fuel filter nut.
6. Install the fuel filter quick-connect fitting. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar).
7. Inspect for fuel leaks through the following steps:
1. Turn ON the ignition leaving the engine OFF for two seconds.
2. Turn OFF the ignition for ten seconds.
3. Turn ON the ignition leaving the engine OFF.
4. Check for fuel leaks.
