SERVICE INFORMATION
For Model Year 2000, the Trooper has an Automatic Air Conditioning System that provides both heating and cooling for optimum vehicle comfort in all weather conditions. This Automatic Air Conditioning System incorporates a Control Panel as illustrated.
As seen in the illustration, this Automatic Air Conditioning System uses a Temperature Adjusting Knob. During normal operation the customer may move the Temperature Adjusting Knob to the extreme cold or extreme hot positions. When this occurs, the fan speed will go to maximum and remain at maximum until the Temperature Adjusting Knob is moved away from the extreme hot or cold positions.
Also, when the Temperature Adjusting Knob is in the extreme cold position, the Air Conditioning Compressor will remain on no matter what the outside ambient temperature or the inside cab temperature may be at the time of operation. If the Temperature Adjusting Knob is in the extreme hot position, the heater will remain on no matter the outside ambient temperature or the inside cab temperature. This operation is to Isuzu Manufacture's Specification and should not be repaired. Isuzu Service Departments are encouraged to clarify any operational issues with the Automatic Air Conditioning System to the customer.
All other operational functions are clearly identified in the Owners Manual. Also, all service diagnostics and repairs will soon become available in Electronic Service Information. Please contact the Technical Assistance Line at (800) 533-0244 for any related Automatic Air Conditioning Service Issues.
