SERVICE INFORMATION

Surface conditioning discs should not be used when cleaning engine gasket sealing surfaces, and/or cleaning engine parts on all Isuzu Vehicles. Surface conditioning discs are typically constructed of woven fibers or bristles, which contain abrasives such as Aluminum Oxide. Aluminum Oxide and other metal particles can be dislodged while using surface conditioning discs. Once the engine oil is contaminated with these particles, premature engine bearing failure could occur.

Surface conditioning discs may also grind the component material and may imbed some foreign matter into the disc. This can result in more aggressive grinding of the gasket surface, which may affect the gasket's ability to seal. Therefore, it is recommended to use a plastic gasket scrapper to clean the gasket surface.
