Dome Lamp: Description and Operation

Circuit Operation
Battery voltage is applied at all times through the CB-5 DOME LIGHT fuse to the dome, map, courtesy, and luggage room lights.

Dome Light
With a door open and the dome light switch in the DOOR position, a ground path is provided by the closed door switch and the dome light goes on. With the doors closed, the dome light can be turned on by turning the dome light switch to ON.

Courtesy Lights (W/Preferred Equipment and Rodeo LS and LSE Models)
With a door open, aground path is provided through the left front door switch, or any of the other door switches, and the door courtesy lights go on.

Luggage Room Light
With the hatch gate open (Rodeo) or the tailgate open (Rodeo Sport) and the luggage room light switch in the DOOR position, a ground path is provided by the closed hatch gate switch (Rodeo) or the tailgate switch (Rodeo Sport) the luggage room light goes on. With the hatch gate closed, the luggage room light can be turned on by turning the luggage room light switch to ON.

Map Lights
When either the left or right map light switch is depressed, battery voltage is applied to that particular light and the map light goes on.

Vanity Mirror Lights
The vanity mirror lights are energized whenever the lighting switch is in HEAD or PARK, and the vanity mirror cover is lifted.
