Condenser Fan System

Air Conditioning System

Diagnostic Information: Condenser Fan System

Condenser fan is not functioning (check whether the air conditioning system other than the condenser fan is functioning properly, followed by performing the following checks.)

Schematic Reference: A/C Compressor Controls (A/T) A/C Compressor Controls (M/T)

Prior verification and visual check

- Check to ensure that the battery voltage is normal.
Charge or replace the battery if the battery voltage is abnormal.

- Check to ensure that the fuses are normal.
When an abnormality is found with the fuses (such as blowout), check the cause of blowout (short circuit of the harness, etc.) and repair or replace the fuses accordingly in advance.

- Check to ensure that the earth point is normal.
If an abnormality is found with the earth point (such as fixing defect and significant soiling), repair and clean accordingly.

- Check to ensure that the harness and connectors are normal.
Check to ensure that the connector connection is not faulty, there is no abnormality in the harness such as scratches and breaking, and there is no short circuit with other circuits due to loosened wire in the harness.

- Check whether there is any impact caused by external electrical equipment (radio, lamp, etc.).
Turn off the power of or dismantle the external equipment to prevent any influence on the inspection and functioning of the system.

Inspection of component parts

- Check the fuse (F-37).
When an abnormality is found with the fuse (such as blowout), check the cause of blowout (short circuit of the harness, etc.) and repair or replace the fuse accordingly in advance.

- Check the Condenser Fan Relay.
Check the conduction of the Condenser Fan Relay and replace accordingly if an abnormality is found.

- Check the Condenser Fan.
Check the conduction of the Condenser Fan and replace accordingly if an abnormality is found.

- Check the Triple Pressure Switch.
Check the conduction of the Triple Pressure Switch and replace accordingly if an abnormality is found.

Circuit inspection

- Check the following circuits to ensure that there is no disconnection, short circuit (power supply and Ground) and high resistance.
When an abnormality is found in the circuit, repair or replace it accordingly. (Each terminal NO. indicates the connector terminal at the chassis harness side.)
- Between Magnetic Clutch Relay terminal NO. 2 and Condenser Fan Relay terminal NO. 3
- Between Condenser Fan Relay terminal NO. 5 and Triple Pressure Switch terminal NO. 4
- Between Triple Pressure Switch terminal NO. 2 and Ground
- Between fuse (F-37) terminal and Condenser Fan Relay terminal NO. 2
- Between Condenser Fan Relay terminal NO.1 and Condenser Fan terminal NO. 2
- Between Condenser Fan terminal NO. 1 and Ground

Condenser fan does not stop running (condenser fan does not stop running even after stopping the air conditioner)

(Each terminal NO. indicates the connector terminal at the chassis harness side.) When an abnormality is found in the circuit, repair or replace it accordingly.

Condenser fan does not stop running (condenser fan does not stop when the air conditioner is running and when the magnetic clutch is ON.)
