Hood Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the hood insulator.
2. Remove the front hood seal.
3. Using a grease pencil or other suitable marking device, mark the position of the hood to the hinges.
4. With the aid of an assistant, remove the 4 bolts that retain the hood to the hood hinges.
5. With the aid of an assistant, remove the hood from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. With the aid of an assistant, position the hood to the vehicle.
2. Partially install the 4 bolts that retain the hood to the hinges.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. With the aid of an assistant, position the hood to the hinges at the previously marked locations.

Tighten the bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

4. Inspect the hood for proper adjustment.
5. Install the hood insulator.
6. Install the front hood seal.
