Magnetic Clutch System

Air Conditioning System

Diagnostic Information: Magnetic Clutch System

Magnetic clutch is not functioning (check whether the blower switch system is functioning properly, followed by performing the following checks.)

Schematic Reference: A/C Compressor Controls (A/T) A/C Compressor Controls (M/T)

Prior verification and visual check

- Check to ensure that the battery voltage is normal.
Charge or replace the battery if the battery voltage is abnormal.

- Check to ensure that the fuses are normal.
When an abnormality is found with the fuses (such as blowout), check the cause of blowout (short circuit of the harness, etc.) and repair or replace the fuses accordingly in advance.

- Check to ensure that the earth point is normal.
If an abnormality is found with the earth point (such as fixing defect and significant soiling), repair and clean accordingly.

- Check to ensure that the harness and connectors are normal.
Check to ensure that the connector connection is not faulty, there is no abnormality in the harness such as scratches and breaking, and there is no short circuit with other circuits due to loosened wire in the harness.

- Check whether there is any impact caused by external electrical equipment (radio, lamp, etc.).
Turn off the power of or dismantle the external equipment to prevent any influence on the inspection and functioning of the system.

Inspection of component parts

- Check the fuse (F-30) and (F-38).
When an abnormality is found with the fuse (such as blowout), check the cause of blowout (short circuit of the harness, etc.) and repair or replace the fuse accordingly in advance.

- Check the Magnetic Clutch Relay.
Check the conduction of the Magnetic Clutch Relay and replace accordingly if an abnormality is found.

- Check the Triple Pressure Switch.
Check the conduction of the Triple Pressure Switch and replace accordingly if an abnormality is found.

- Check the Aircon Switch.
Check the conduction of the Aircon Switch and replace accordingly if an abnormality is found.

- Check the Thermo.
Check the Thermo and replace accordingly if an abnormality is found.

- Check the Magnetic Clutch.
Check the Magnetic Clutch and replace accordingly if an abnormality is found.

Circuit inspection

- Check the following circuits to ensure that there is no disconnection, short circuit (power supply and Ground) and high resistance.
When an abnormality is found in the circuit, repair or replace it accordingly. (Each terminal NO. indicates the connector terminal at the chassis harness side.)
- Between fuse (F-30) terminal NO. 2 and Sub J/B2 terminal NO. 5
- Between Sub J/B2 terminal NO. 2 and Magnetic Clutch Relay terminal NO. 3
- Between Magnetic Clutch Relay terminal NO. 5 and Thermo terminal NO. 3
- Between Thermo terminal NO. 4 and Aircon Switch terminal NO. 4
- Between Aircon Switch terminal NO. 5 and Sub J/B2 terminal NO. 18 (Ground)
- Between fuse (F-38) terminal and Magnetic Clutch Relay terminal NO. 1
- Between Magnetic Clutch Relay terminal NO. 2 and Triple Pressure Switch terminal NO. 1
- Between Triple Pressure Switch terminal NO. 3 and Magnetic Clutch
