Hard Start
1. Out of fuel.
a. Check fuel level, adjust as necessary.
2. Injection timing.
a. Check injection pump alignment mark to block mark, adjust if necessary.
3. Fuel not reaching injector nozzles.
a. Check for air in fuel lines, bleed as necessary.
b. Check fuel cut solenoid operation, repair or replace as necessary.
c. Check fuel filter and fuel pipes for blockages.
d. Check delivery valves for sticking.
e. Overhaul or readjust setting of injector pump.
4. Pre-heat circuit inoperative.
a. Check fuse and electrical connections, repair as necessary.
5. Faulty injection nozzles.
a. Repair or replace as necessary.
6. Low compression.
a. Check compression, repair as necessary.
7. Excessive valve clearance.
a. Adjust valves.
8. Valve train trouble.
a. Check timing belt and camshaft installation, repair as necessary.
9. Injection pump faulty.
a. Readjust or overhaul injection pump.
