AW30-80LE Transmission

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain transmission oil pan, transfer oil pan and transfer chain case.
2. Loosen throttle cable adjusting nut and disconnect cable housing from bracket.
3. Disconnect wiring connectors to solenoid neutral start and back-up light switches located near the starter.
4. Remove starter mounting bolts and pull toward front of vehicle. Lay starter alongside engine.
5. Remove front propeller shaft. Disconnect center bearing bracket, and remove rear propeller shaft.
6. Disconnect speedometer cable from extension housing.
7. Disconnect shift linkage at rear connection.
8. Disconnect exhaust pipe and oil cooler lines.
9. Remove engine rear dust cover and under cover.
10. Remove six torque converter attaching bolts from starter hole. Turn crankshaft to gain access to each bolt.
11. Remove rear transmission mount attaching bolts, then raise engine and transmission assembly using a suitable jack. Remove rear crossmember.
12. Remove transmission housing to engine attaching bolts, then lower transmission from vehicle. When removing transmission, use caution to avoid dropping torque converter.
13. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following torques: transmission housing to engine attaching bolts, 36-58 ft. lbs. and torque converter to flywheel attaching bolts, 72.3-79.4 ft. lbs.
