Thermostatic Air Cleaner: Testing and Inspection
1. Check all rubber hoses and vacuum motor for looseness or damage. Repair as necessary.
2. Remove air cleaner cover and element.
3. Cool inlet air temperature control (ITC) valve with compressed air, then check to ensure that air control valve of vacuum motor closes cool air passage with engine idling.
4. Reinstall air cleaner element and cover, then start engine and allow to reach normal operating temperature. Cool air passage should be open with engine idling.
