Performance Test

PERFORMANCE TEST
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the fuel inlet hose from the carburetor.
3. Connect a fuel pump pressure gauge between the inlet hose and the carburetor, using a tee fitting.
4. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
5. Start the engine and run at 750 rpm. Note the reading on the pressure gauge.
6. Stop the engine and disconnect the negative battery cable.
7. Remove the pressure gauge and tee fitting.
8. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
9. Place the open end of the fuel line into a graduated container.
10. Crank the engine for 30 seconds. Note the amount of gasoline delivered to the container, then safely dispose of the fuel.
11. Connect the fuel inlet line to the carburetor.
12. Compare the results of these tests (step 5 and step 10) to the specifications given below. If the pump fails these tests, it should be replaced.

Pressure: 0.27 - 0.33 kg/cm2 (3.84 - 4.70 psi)
Delivery: 0.4 liter/3O seconds (0.428 quart/30 seconds)
