SERVICE INFORMATION
American Isuzu Motors Inc. has been advised by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to notify dealers of a new amendment to the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1966.
The new amendment, Section 154(d), "Limitation on Sale or Lease of Certain Vehicles," states that upon notification of a campaign, dealers must perform safety-related campaign repairs or inspections on all affected vehicles in dealer inventory prior to delivering the vehicle to the consumer.
When a recall campaign is announced, the dealer is responsible for ensuring that all new vehicles and new replacement parts in the dealership stock are free of safety defects and comply with all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards prior to delivery to the consumer. Each dealer will receive a monthly Campaign Completion Report (AWS123-1A) identifying vehicles the dealer is responsible for repairing. Refer to Warranty Bulletin WB-07-92 for details on the Campaign Completion Report.
