Transaxle Replace



1. Remove hood, then disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove front wheel assembly.
4. Remove air duct.
5. Label, then disconnect all vacuum lines and electrical connectors from transaxle.
6. Disconnect speedometer cable from transaxle.
7. Drain fluid from transaxle, then disconnect and cap transaxle cooler lines.
8. Disconnect right control arm end from steering knuckle. Remove left tension rod and bracket. Disconnect both tie rod ends from steering knuckle.
9. Remove driveshafts.
10. Install suitable engine lift onto engine lifting eyes. Raise engine slightly, then support transaxle assembly.
11. Remove engine mount attaching bolts and/or nuts, then the crossmember.
12. Remove the three upper transaxle to engine bolts.
13. Remove converter cover. Remove converter-to-flywheel attaching bolts.
14. Remove transaxle from vehicle.
15. Reverse procedure to install.
