Fuel Injector - Fuel/Combustion Deposits

VEHICLES AFFECTED

Isuzu Impulse (JR) models.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Some vehicles may exhibit engine hesitation caused by fuel injector clogging and/or buildup of fuel/combustion deposits in the induction system. While these conditions may be due to poor fuel quality, Isuzu has authorized the use of Chevron Techron Gasoline Additive as a preventive measure. Where hesitation is already a problem, the effectiveness of Techron depends on the cause of the hesitation. Techron will quickly clear a clogged injector, causing a rapid driveability improvement. If the hesitation is due in part to buildup of fuel/combustion deposits, the best results will be achieved after several treatments.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

WARNING Read and follow all precautions printed on the Techron container.

1. Vehicle gasoline tank must be about 1/4 full for proper mixing of Techron and fuel.
2. Pour the entire contents of one 20 fluid ounce container of Chevron Techron Gasoline Additive into the vehicle's tank.

3. Immediately fill the tank completely with unleaded gasoline. Do not run the engine on fuel containing Techron in any ratio greater than one container
Techron: full tank of fuel.

4. Instruct the customer to delay refilling the tank as long as is practical-preferably until tank is less than 1/4 full.

5. This procedure may be repeated as necessary, but not more often than once every 1,600 miles. If the vehicle was previously experiencing hesitation due to buildup of fuel/combustion deposits, several treatments may be required before improvement is noticed.
