Concealment Plug Removal


1. Remove carburetor from vehicle.
2. Cover primary and secondary throttle bores and carburetor ports to prevent metal chips and/or dirt from entering carburetor.
3. Mark center of concealment plug with a suitable punch.
4. Using a suitable drill bit, drill a hole in the plug and thread a screw into the hole. Since width of plug is .390 inch, drill depth should be less than this amount.
5. Inspect idle mixture adjusting screw for wear and/or damage. Replace screw if necessary.
6. If screw is replaced, adjust idle and mixture speeds as required.
7. Install a new concealment plug as follows:
a. Remove oil from carburetor side hole and plug.
b. Apply Loctite 262 or equivalent, onto concealment plug.
c. Drive in new concealment plug until plug top is flush with carburetor surface.
